Acton Mill Care Farm is a very special place and we are delighted to be offering a rare opportunity to join our team to meet the growing demands for spaces for both adults and children at our Provision. The Care Farm has been operating 16 years, with our Alternative Provision opening in September 2023 supporting students who have special education needs preventing them from accessing full‑time education. The farm offers a unique environment that is safe, caring and nurturing for adults with learning disabilities and students who are not attending school due to anxiety, neuro‑diverse needs, or emotionally based school avoidance.
This role will entail working with both adults and children delivering and facilitating activities such as PE/Sport, Woodwork, Cooking and Baking, Arts and Craft, Horticulture, Animal Care, Fishing, Forest School, Dog Walking and any other activities your skillset can enable us to offer.
Support for this role will be overseen and coordinated by our Head of Provision and SENCO, who will, alongside you and the team, work collaboratively to provide an excellent service to our adults and young people.

* Plan, develop, adapt and foster a safe, supportive learning environment.
* Deliver engaging and tailored sessions to people with a range of learning needs.
* Work with people with diagnosed and undiagnosed additional needs.
* Use experience in handling challenging behaviour to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Apply effective strategies to encourage positive behaviour and support personal development.
Qualifications & Experience
* A passionate champion of vulnerable adults and children with SEND.
* Creative, flexible and able to problem solve.
* Knowledgeable and possess relevant qualifications or experience working in the care sector or in roles linked to SEND Teaching or as a Teaching Assistant in an educational environment.
* Able to work as part of a team and be flexible.
* Kind, caring and have a sense of humour.

Your normal working day will be either 10 am‑3 pm or 9:30 am‑2:30 pm, Monday to Friday and term time only (39 weeks per year). Adults and students will be working with you between 9:45 am‑2:30 pm or 10 am‑3 pm. Additional working hours can be agreed for the right candidate and discussed at interview. For the right candidate there will be an opportunity to work 7‑hour days with additional days’ work available during the school holidays. Salary range reflects the range of hours available from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 35 (more may be available if the candidate can support delivery of further income‑generating activities).
