Overview

The Oxford Major Trauma Centre (MTC) is located within the John Radcliffe Hospital. It is the hub for a network of surrounding hospitals designated as Trauma Units, across the Thames Valley Trauma Network. A 24/7 consultant-led Trauma team at the MTC provide high quality, specialist care for the most severely injured patients across the Network. The delivery of such exceptional care is facilitated by the integration of multiple, specialist teams from the pre-hospital phase through to rehabilitation.

Key elements of the post include supporting Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the delivery of safe and effective rehabilitation and assisting in the provision of prescribed programmes of treatment to patients as well as other duties, under guidance and supervision.

Interviews conducted face to face. Held in JR Level 2 Physiotherapy Out Patients’ dept – tel: 01865221540.

VBI & technical at the same time lasting ~ 1hr each. Interviews to be held FROM Monday 13th April – Contact us (Angela Maset / Alia Grist) directly via email to book a time slot, or to place specific request for a different date.

1. 0830 – 0930
2. 0945- 1045
3. 1100-1200
4. 1300- 1400
5. 1400-1500


Main Roles

* To work as a key member of the Trauma & Plastics Therapy team and the wider trauma multidisciplinary team.
* To assist the Therapy team in rehabilitating patients following trauma, poly-trauma, SCI & MSK injuries to optimise patient recovery and outcomes.
* To support patient centred rehabilitation in order to facilitate timely, safe discharge, reflecting individual choice and maximising an individual’s independence.
* To provide holistic interventions for patients without direct supervision, working to treatment plans, protocols and accountable at all times to a registered practitioner.
* To accurately record patient information utilising electronic patient records.
* To record and input data onto IT systems as required.
* To maintain rehabilitation equipment in the department / wards.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an established rehabilitation team, working with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists & Therapy Assistants, to optimise the recovery and outcomes for people admitted to hospital, following trauma, poly-trauma, SCI, head injury, MSK & plastic injuries.


Additional roles

Main Roles:

* To work flexibly within a large In-patient trauma therapies team, comprising Physiotherapist, Occupational therapists and therapy assistants both band 3 & 4 alongside the wider trauma multidisciplinary team.
* To assist the Therapy team in rehabilitating patients following trauma/ polytrauma /spinal, plastics & MSK injuries that may require orthopaedic /spinal & plastic surgery to optimise patient recovery and outcomes.
* To support patient centred rehabilitation to facilitate timely, safe discharge, reflecting individual choice and maximising an individual’s independence.
* To provide holistic interventions for patients with indirect supervision, working to provide treatment plans for non-complex patients, apply appropriate protocols whilst always being accountable to a registered practitioner.
* To accurately record patient information utilising electronic patient records.
* To record and input data onto IT systems as required.
* To maintain rehabilitation equipment in the department / wards.
* To contribute to the trauma therapies team in-service training programmes
* To complete the trusts’ care certificate and trauma therapies competencies for the role.
* To undertake quality improvement projects and developments within the trauma therapies team.
* To comply with trust policies including annual appraisal & monthly supervision sessions.
* To always uphold and promote trust values.
