Are you an experienced and driven housing professional ready to lead a high-performing team through transformation and service improvement? We are seeking an Interim Service Manager for Housing to join our Adult Social Care and Housing Directorate for a Southern based Local Authority. This is a key operational leadership role that requires a committed presence 1 week per month on site. About the Role As Interim Service Manager, you will: * Lead operational delivery of housing services, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred provision. * Drive elements of our Housing Transformation Programme, with a focus on service quality and continuous improvement. * Ensure legislative and statutory compliance across all service areas, especially in areas such as homelessness and housing renewal. * Forge strong, collaborative partnerships with providers and agencies to enhance support and accommodation outcomes. * Play an active role within the directorate’s Leadership Group, helping to shape strategic direction and foster a culture of performance and accountability. About You To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate: * Substantial leadership experience in delivering housing services, ideally in a multi-agency environment. * A degree or equivalent qualification in a housing-related field. * In-depth knowledge of housing legislation, statutory duties, and best practices. * Confidence in handling complex, sensitive situations with calm, resilience, and strategic thinking. * A commitment to people-first, outcomes-focused service delivery. * Strong interpersonal skills to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and represent the service at a senior level. * Experience in managing change and driving service performance.
