Serving diverse industry sectors including : Storage & Materials Handling, Security, Automotive products, Areoscape,Telecommunications. The company services include product development, presswork and assembly up to 150 tonnes, fabrication up to 15 tonnes, powder coating up to 8 meters, and 24-hour unmanned laser cutting. Job Summary :
The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, this position involves strategic planning, relationship building, and sales execution to achieve revenue growth targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, particularly in sheet metal fabrication, presswork, or related industrial services, and a proven track record of expanding client portfolios in competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and research potential clients in target industries such as materials handling, automotive, security, and telecommunications, using market analysis tools and industry networks to uncover opportunities for sheet metal components and fabrications.
* Develop and execute business development strategies, including lead generation, cold calling, attending trade shows, and networking events to build a robust sales pipeline.
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, presenting tailored solutions for bespoke metal parts, assemblies, and ancillary equipment like warehouse safety products and staircases.
* Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., production, engineering, and design) to customize proposals, quotes, and contracts that align with client needs and company capabilities, such as presswork up to 150 tonnes or laser cutting services.
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure profitable deals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
* Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities using CRM tools to meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
* Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
* Stay updated on industry developments, including advancements in sheet metal fabrication, sustainable manufacturing practices, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies.
* Support existing client accounts by identifying upselling opportunities and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction to foster repeat business and referrals.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; a technical background in manufacturing or sheet metal work is highly desirable.Although not so essential.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development or sales within the manufacturing, engineering, or fabrication industry, with a focus on B2B environments.
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets and expanding client bases in sectors like automotive, materials handling, or industrial equipment.
* Strong understanding of sheet metal processes, presswork, fabrication techniques, and related services; knowledge of CAD software or manufacturing standards (e.g., ISO 9001) is an advantage.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport at all organizational levels.
* Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and market research tools.
* Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and site visits within the UK and potentially internationally.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the West Midlands manufacturing sector or with companies providing custom metal solutions.
Certifications in sales management, project management (e.g., PRINCE2), or lean manufacturing- Although not essential.
Familiarity with sustainable sourcing and eco-friendly fabrication practices.

Requirements:
Full clean UK Driving Licence
Proven experience in B2B sales with a track record of achieving sales targets.
