Simply Education is seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our Alternative Provision (AP) team, supporting pupils who may be facing challenges such as behavioural difficulties, SEMH needs, or disrupted educational experiences.
This is more than a classroom role - it's an opportunity to inspire confidence, build trust, and make a real difference in the lives of students who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them engage with learning and develop life skills
* Build strong, positive relationships with young people to support their emotional and behavioural development
* Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies to provide consistent, holistic support
* Help maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment that promotes re-engagement in education
* Support the delivery of tailored learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
What Were Looking For
* Experience working with vulnerable or disengaged young people (education, youth work, mentoring, or care)
* A calm, patient and flexible approach with strong behaviour management skills
* A team player who is proactive and solution-focused
* A genuine passion for inclusive education and positive change
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant
