The Kendal District Nurses have an exciting opportunity to recruit a full time Band 6 Clinical Leader.
The Role will be based at the Kendal Team office, covering a range of shifts during core hours 0800 - 1800 over a seven day period all year round including weekends and bank Holidays
The successful candidate will ideally have at least one year's experience in Community Nursing and have completed or working towards relevant post registration qualifications.
You will be working within the Kendal area, as part of a dynamic and supportive team who continuously strive to deliver gold standard patient care within our community.

Main duties of the job
This exciting opportunity is for a dedicated and motivated community nurse to develop their skills and knowledge in District Nursing, working across Kendal and surrounding areas, covering a 12 hour period including weekends and bank holidays, 7 days a week.
You may also be expected to work across a variety of DN teams in the Community Care Group to maintain service delivery.
Community Nurses work closely with all health and social care disciplinaries to prevent hospital admission, facilitate hospital discharge and promote independence through reablement and management of long term conditions. The role requires excellent communication skills as you will undertake complex nursing assessments and develop and deliver programmes of care with patients, families and carers.
You will need a full UK drivers licence and access to a vehicle in order to fulfil this role.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Person specification
* 1 st level registered nurse
* Post registration qualification in relevant area that has enhanced clinical practice.
* Evidence of clinical competence and credibility in clinical speciality.
* Understanding of setting and monitoring of standards.
* Evidence of teaching, mentoring and developing staff.
* Recent management/leadership experience relevant to clinical speciality.
* Post registration management/leadership qualification or willingness to undertake a post registration certificate in management/leadership.
* Modules of study in Leg Ulcer, Tissue Viability V15, Palliative Care or a willingness to undertake these.
* Community Specialist Practitioner qualification or a willingness to undertake the Community Specialist Practitioner qualification.
