Summary
* The SEND Service is seeking a Team Manager for a 3-month contract with a local authority. This role is crucial in managing statutory functions related to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), collaborating with children, young people, their families, educational settings, and other professionals. The position is vital for ensuring the effective delivery of services and improving customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Line manage a sub-team of PfA Coordinators and a Senior PfA Coordinator, including supervision, appraisal, and induction of new team members.
* Collaborate with a second Team Manager on projects and support the wider team and their casework.
* Act as a professional exemplar, maintaining a positive attitude in all duties.
* Arrange and lead phase transfer events, coffee mornings, and chair annual reviews.
* Oversee and manage the work of EHCP Coordinators, advising on complex casework.
* Ensure statutory work around SEND annual reviews, phase transfer, and placement processes are completed efficiently.
* Work with alternative provision placements, those Educated Otherwise than in a School, and Electively Home Educated individuals.
Requirements
* Knowledge of service providers across Education, Health, and Care, effective people management, excellent customer service, safeguarding, equality, and disability issues.
* Detailed knowledge of SEN law, the SEN Code of Practice, and relevant SEND experience, particularly around transitions.
* Experience in working collaboratively with services and agencies involved in EHC Plan delivery, especially Adult Social Care, Health, and NEET services.
* High-level communication and customer service skills, with a focus on solution-oriented thinking.
Essential Qualifications Required
* Educated to a degree level or equivalent with a relevant professional qualification (teaching, education, children’s services, social work, disability, or psychology) and/or relevant experience in SEND.
* Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role.

* Working hours: 36 hours per week.
