Band 7 Lead Occupational Therapist
Kent and Medway Adolescent Hospital (KMAH), part of the North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) is looking for a Lead OT to join our 14‑bed adolescent inpatient unit. The role offers the chance to work in a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence‑based, person‑centred care to young people and families, supporting recovery and smooth transitions back to the community.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership within the MDT, reporting to the Clinical Lead and Matron.
* Supervise a Band 6 OT and several OT Assistants, ensuring delivery of consistent, evidence‑based interventions.
* Maintain and enhance the ward OT programme, delivering sensory assessments and creating individualized therapeutic plans.
* Collaborate with the Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT) to support community‑based interventions.
* Interface with other NELFT services and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality service 365 days per year.
Qualifications
* Registered Occupational Therapist with experience in adolescent or mental health settings.
* Excellent communication skills and strong knowledge of current OT best practice.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑professional team.
* Experience in supervising and leading clinical teams is desirable.
