Job Overview

Are you hard working, adaptable and quick to learn? Do you have experience in a healthcare, caring or public facing setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking to recruit Radiology Department Assistants (RDAs) to join our fast-paced Cross Sectional Imaging team within the Radiology Department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

What You’ll Do

* Work alongside Radiographers, Doctors and other Healthcare professionals
* Prepare patients for their CT and MR scans (including Radiation and MRI safety)
* Provide aftercare for patients undergoing CT and MRI guided interventional procedures such as biopsies
* Cannulation
* Maintain the working environment keeping it safe, stocked, tidy ensuring it meets a high standard of cleanliness
* Data entry and admin tasks are required for maintaining patient records


What We’re Looking For

* Someone with a genuine interest in Healthcare
* Previous Healthcare, caring or public facing experience
* Good communication skills and a caring and calm personality
* Willing to be flexible about your shifts and able to cover service hours outlined above
* Basic computer skills with good attention to detail


Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience


Essential criteria

* NVQ 3 in Healthcare, with acute units corresponding to speciality (or equivalent)
* Experience in a relevant care environment or customer facing role


Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of Computed Radiology Information System (CRIS)
* Education to A level / T Level
* Basic Life support
* Previous hospital experience
* Previous experience of stock control
* Knowledge of radiography
