Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Current registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
2. Educated to Degree level or relevant equivalent experience / qualifications
3. Must have practiced as a Registered Nurse for at least 2 years
4. Demonstrable evidence of CPD
5. Learning and Assessing (mentorship) qualification or teaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Recent experience of utilising clinical skills (example – venepuncture, cannulation, Intravenous therapy, Central Venous Access Devices, urinary catheterisation) following appropriate training
7. Experience of supervising and assessing practice in an interprofessional practice environment
8. Expert clinical nursing practice skills and ability to role model safe practice
9. Experience of delivering education and training
Desirable criteria
10. Formal teaching experience
11. Experience of writing policies and procedures
Skills
Essential criteria
12. Presentation skills
13. IT skills (Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint)
14. Role model safe practice in the clinical arena
15. Flexibility and ability to deal with unpredictable situations which may arise
