Mechanical Fitter - Night Shift
A leading engineering manufacturer is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to perform precision mechanical fitting and assembly tasks. The role involves working from technical drawings and specifications, ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards while supporting wider operational efficiency on the night shift.
This role would suit a mechanically-minded individual with prior experience in fitting or assembly within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates will be confident interpreting engineering drawings, using tools and machinery, and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety on a consistent basis.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical parts and systems in line with detailed engineering drawings.
Carry out alignment, torqueing, and testing of mechanical assemblies.
Perform rework and modifications as needed, maintaining accurate documentation.
Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety regulations at all times.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifiactions Needed
NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / fitting / Manufacturing
Apprenticeship in mechanical fitting or similar ( preferred but no essential )
Relevant safety certifications ( manual handling, COSHH, Working at height ) are an advantage Salary
£17.27 per hour + 33% night shift allowance = approx. £22.96 per hour.
Night shift: Monday to Thursday, 16:30 - 02:45 (39 hours/week).
