Overview
A fixed term (maternity cover) psychologist position within the Perinatal Mental Health Team in East Birmingham. We are looking for band 7/8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologists with an interest in perinatal mental health to work in our community team in East Birmingham.
The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a multi-disciplinary, regional service to treat mothers with mental health problems, from pregnancy up to two years post-partum. The East Community team is based in Small Heath, at the Little Bromwich Centre. You will join a large, active and supportive perinatal psychology team that meets regularly and benefits from psychology leadership and development opportunities for our psychological clinicians.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for mothers and their babies and families in the community.
* Work with women with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, including birth trauma, parent–infant work, OCD and depression.
* Contribute to the service-wide group programme.
* Contribute to the supervision of psychology trainees or psychology assistants working in the community setting.
* Act as a member of the MDT, attend meetings and offer advice and consultation on clients\' psychological care to team colleagues.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Band 7/8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with an interest in perinatal mental health.
* Experience or interest in community-based perinatal services and working with the mother–baby–family triad.
* Ability to provide supervision and contribute to MDT discussions and service development.
