An opportunity has arisen within Mental Health Services for a Medical Secretary to join our current team.

The successful candidate would also be expected to provide cover for other secretaries at times of annual/sick leave.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Medical Secretaries who provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative and patient co-ordination services for Consultant Psychiatrists and associated medical staff who provide outreach clinics throughout Argyll and Bute.

You will have significant secretarial experience with a high level of office practice skills, have knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient in the use of office software and patient information systems (such as Micrsoft Office, e-mail, Hospital Intranet, TrakCare PMS, SciStore etc.), with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.

Knowledge of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003 would be an advantage.

Candidates must be self-motivated and possess excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.

The ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as individually are essential.

This post will be worked 21 hours over 4 days.
