Buyer - Role and Responsibilities Lead cost-effective purchasing of raw materials, components, and services. Manage stock levels to ensure production teams always have the materials they need. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring best value, service, and delivery. Represent the purchasing function in cross-departmental meetings, supporting wider business objectives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams, including R&D and production. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Buyer - Knowledge, Skills & Experience Previous buying/purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Proven track record of building and managing supplier relationships, including negotiation and performance management. Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and stock control processes. Experience working closely with R&D teams to source and develop new products and materials. Commercially astute, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
