The role
Our client is seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in South Oxfordshire. This role involves working on small maintenance projects, including carriageway and paving projects, ensuring the safety and functionality of the highway infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out maintenance and repair works on highways
Managing small-scale maintenance projects, including carriageway and paving works
Conducting inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensuring timely interventions
Supervising on-site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to deliver effective maintenance solutions
Preparing and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities
Ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard and within project timelines
Job Requirements:
Experience in highway maintenance and repair projects
Strong understanding of road construction, paving, and maintenance techniques
Ability to manage small-scale projects and work effectively as part of a team
Proficient in conducting site inspections and preparing detailed reports
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication and organisational abilities
