We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the multidisciplinary Discovery team, helping shape the future of the cloud-based development environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early-phase project work — comfortable analysing infrastructure, defining access and support models, and identifying technical constraints that will shape the foundation of a future Alpha build.

* Evaluate access, support, commissioning/decommissioning workflows, and sandbox requirements
* Provide DevOps input into the Discovery report, including technical feasibility, security guardrails, and future-state architecture
* Support identification of 3rd-party integration requirements (e.g. OKTA, OneLogin, Notify, etc.)
* Contribute to recommendations on platform design, delivery timelines, and indicative costs for Alpha
Experience:
* Strong background in DevOps or platform engineering within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
* Experience working on Discovery or Alpha projects in the public sector, ideally aligned to GDS standards
* Skilled in platform architecture, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure-as-code
* Familiar with developer tooling, sandbox environments, and infrastructure access control models
* Comfortable producing clear documentation and contributing to early-stage architecture planning
* Collaborative team member, able to work closely with user researchers, designers, and delivery leads
The Details:
* Inside IR35
* Start date: ASAP, subject to clearance
* £500-£525p/d
