An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on a 25 bedded multi speciality Emergency Surgical Ward at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
We are looking to recruit a keen, enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic individual to deliver and drive high standards of safe patient care.

In-house specialist training is provided and we actively promote professional development and strive to offer a learning environment where staff feel empowered to enhance their knowledge and skills.
If you are a newly qualified nurse, you will be supported through the Trusts 1 year preceptorship programme.

Shifts are based on a 24/7 shift rotation of long days and nights to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
1. Acts at all times in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct.
2. Supervises the work of the nursing team, ensuring individual programmes of care are formulated accordingly to patient needs and current research/guidelines.
3. Undertakes the assessment of patients including risk assessments e.g Purpose T and falls assessments
4. Ensures planned nursing care is delivered safely and effectively taking into account the views of the patient and their relatives.
5. Ensures plans of care are implemented and updated as appropriate.
Advises on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
6. Acts as link nurse to other specialties.
7. Participates in Audits relevant to the ward area.

Essential criteria
8. Registered Nurse/Awaiting NMC PIN
Desirable criteria
9. Evidence of further continued professional development
10. Post qualification experience in relevant speciality
11. Hold / be working towards an NMC approved mentoring qualification
