The role:
* Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with UK regulations
* Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and address potential hazards and risks in the workplace
* Provide safety training and educational programs to employees at all levels, ensuring a strong safety culture across the organisation
* Investigate and document workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety awareness and facilitate a proactive approach to safety
* Stay up to date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices and ensure company-wide compliance
* Manage safety-related documentation and reporting, including maintaining records, incident reports, and safety statistics
The person:
* An experienced & qualified Health & Safety Manager from a production / manufacturing background (ideally food)
* Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and policies
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skill
* Proficient in using safety management software and tools
* A confident professional leader withexcellent communication & organisational skills and high attention to detail
