Finance Manager – Quarr Abbey

Quarr Abbey is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to become part of our team, overseeing the financial operations for St. Mary\u2019s Quarr Abbey and Quarr Abbey Enterprises. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a historic and community-focused environment.
Location: Quarr Abbey (office-based role)
Hours: 37.5 hours over Monday - Friday
Benefits: 28 days holiday pay pro rata (with increases based on length of service), staff discounts in our Tea and Farm shop, and access to a staff car park.
Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, and compliance with regulations.
* Prepare accurate monthly management reports for St. Mary\u2019s Quarr Abbey and Quarr Abbey Enterprises.
* Prepare and submit monthly payroll for Quarr Abbey Enterprises and Quarr abbey
* Provide stakeholder reporting for the Senior Management Team, Director of Fundraising and Operations, and external stakeholders as required.
* Manage project finances, including providing business cases, investment appraisals, monitoring spending, and evaluating performance.
* Complete and submit gift aid returns
* Manage on site cash and banking
Qualifications and Experience
* Accountancy Qualification: Applicants must hold the Associated Accountancy Technician Level 4 qualification. This qualification is a fundamental requirement, ensuring candidates possess the necessary expertise to oversee and manage the financial operations at Quarr Abbey in a competent and effective manner.
* Experience with Sage Systems: A comprehensive background in utilising Sage and Sage Payroll accounting platforms is required. Applicants should have demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of these systems to support efficient financial management and payroll administration within the organisation.
* Charitable Finance Management: Candidates must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding and working knowledge of managing finances within a charitable context. This involves familiarity with the unique requirements, regulations, and best practices associated with overseeing financial matters for charitable organisations.
