Social Worker - Child in Need / Child Protection | Halton Borough Council | Up to £39 per hour (LOCUM) At Connect2Socialwork, we are currently working in partnership with Halton Borough Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker within their Children in Need and Child Protection service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team working with vulnerable children and families, where you'll play a key role in safeguarding and delivering positive outcomes. The role: You will manage a varied caseload across CIN and Child Protection, including involvement in care proceedings, ensuring all children are supported effectively and their safety is prioritised. Key responsibilities: Undertake comprehensive assessments and care planning Manage cases through care proceedings, working closely with legal teams and partner agencies Maintain regular visits and strong relationships with children, families and professionals Attend reviews, multi-agency meetings and court Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration Minimum 3 years' permanent post-qualified experience within Child Protection and court work Proven experience managing complex cases including care proceedings Ability to work hybrid - combining home working with visits in the community Must be within reasonable distance of Runcorn to attend visits as required What's on offer: Up to £39 per hour (dependent on experience) Flexible hybrid working Supportive team and established service Why Work with Connect2Socialwork?
