Digital Services Manager
Location: Rochford & Brentwood, Essex (Hybrid – minimum 1 day on-site per week)
Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary (3 Month Contract)
Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Digital Services Manager on behalf of our client within the public sector on an initial 3-month temporary contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative Digital, Data and Technology team supporting two local authorities, driving the delivery and improvement of digital services.
Main Purpose of the Role
To manage and deliver digital services across Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council. You will lead digital service teams, oversee live service performance, and drive continuous improvement across digital platforms and systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Manage the live operation of digital services across both councils
* Act as the escalation point for incidents, problems, and service requests
* Lead digital teams including Product Development, Application Support, and Geospatial
* Work closely with internal services to reduce demand and improve efficiency
* Use resident and internal feedback to enhance digital user experience
* Ensure services meet information governance, data protection, and security standards
* Deliver improvement projects using strong project management skills
* Manage suppliers and oversee financial aspects of digital services
Additional Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships across departments and stakeholders
* Support ongoing development and optimisation of digital services
* Contribute to the wider digital strategy across the council partnership
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience managing digital services or IT teams
* Strong understanding of the Microsoft technology stack
* Experience delivering digital products and services
* Ability to manage incidents, service requests, and operational performance
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Experience with continuous improvement and project delivery
* Knowledge of information governance, data protection, and security requirements
Working Pattern & Benefits
Hours: 3 days per week, 08:30 – 17:00
Benefits: Hybrid working, minimum 1 day on-site, collaborative public sector environment
Salary: £27.24 per hour
