The Boeing Company an experienced Operational Suitability Speciali st (Senior or Expert) level to join our team in Crawley, United Kingdom in support of global certification and operational readiness of our aircraft products. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of EASA Operational Suitability Data (OSD) requirements and practical experience with other worldwide aviation authorities, including the FAA and additional ICAO-compliant regulators. This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, flight operations, training, human factors, and regulatory compliance teams to develop and manage operational suitability deliverables that meet both EASA and global regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring our products are certifiable and operationally effective for operators worldwide. Position Responsibilities - Lead and coordinate development of Operational Suitability Data (OSD) deliverables per EASA Part 21, Subpart B Section 21.A.15, including: Flight Crew Data (FC), Cabin Crew Data (CC),Maintenance Staff Data (MS), Simulator Data (SIM) - Minimum Type-Specific Data (for pilot type rating) - Develop, align, and manage operational suitability deliverables for other worldwide regulators - Act as subject matter expert (SME) on FAA and EASA OSD Operational Suitability and Operational Evaluation processes, and other National Aviation Authority (NAA) requirements as applicable (e.g. TCCA, ANAC, CAAC, UK CAA, GCAA, etc.) - Develop compliance plans and project timelines for global operational suitability deliverables - Prepare and submit compliance documentation to EASA, FAA, and other applicable NAAs, including participating in regulator panels and operational evaluations - Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, training, technical publications, human factors) and external stakeholders (operators, training providers, simulator manufacturers) to ensure operational suitability requirements are met Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Flight Operations, Human Factors, Systems Engineering, or a combination of relevant skills and experience - Minimum 5 years of experience in operational suitability, certification, flight operations engineering, or a closely related field - Proven expertise in EASA OSD requirements and FAA operational evaluation processes (including Flight Standardization Board (FSB) reports and related deliverables) - Familiarity with CS-25, Part 21 Subpart B, Part FCL, Part 121/135, 14 CFR Part 60, CS-FSTD(A), and other relevant regulations - Excellent project management, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Level 4 - Senior - Minimum 7 years of experience in operational suitability, certification, flight operations engineering, or a closely related field. - Experience supporting CS-25 aircraft or equivalent type certification programs in multiple regulatory jurisdictions. - Familiarity with UK CAA, Transport Canada (TCCA), ANAC Brazil, CAAC China, GCAA UAE, or other key international regulatory requirements. Level 5 - Expert - Minimum 10 years of experience in operational suitability, certification, flight operations engineering, or a closely related field. - Experience interacting directly with EASA PCM / OSD Panel, FAA AED / FSB, and other international regulators - Working knowledge of ICAO Doc 9625, flight crew training and type rating requirements, simulator qualification standards, and maintenance training considerations. - Experience developing global operational suitability / operational evaluation data in support of type certification, major STC, or EIS programs Prior background in flight operations engineering, training program development, or human factors engineering is an asset Practical knowledge of FAA TIA/TIA-ODS, PSCP, Issue Papers, and EASA CRI processes The Boeing benefits package goes above and beyond, focusing on your physical, emotional, financial and social well-being.
