My renewable energy client is seeking an experienced mechanical supervisor to support their project management team for the construction of a major power plant in Yorkshire.
Role - Mechanical Supervisor
Project Type - New build energy project
Location - Yorkshire
Start Date - ASAP
Duration - 6 Months (possible extension)
Hours - Monday to Friday 07.00 - 17.00. Must be flexible to work weekends when required.
Reporting directly to the project manager successful candidates must have solid knowledge and experience as a mechanical engineer as this role focuses heavily on supervising the works and being able to track progress. In addition you must possess strong communication skills and authority in being able to speak with the sub-contracted companies and keep activities moving.
Day to day responsibilities
Oversees budget preparation of a departmental budget.
Maintain liaison with other departments.
Ensure all on-site personnel comply with safety procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
Responsible for safe working conditions within assigned area of authority through the execution of the corporate safety procedures and adherence to established safe practices.
Responsible for the understanding, execution, and enforcement of corporate quality standards within assigned area of authority by identifying potential problems early and ensuring the project and company's quality commitments are met.
Be the leader of safety for the mechanical group.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
4+ years of proven experience in mechanical engineering project management.
Proficiency in engineering design principles, using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and review mechanical drawings, layouts and specifications.
In-depth knowledge of various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, ventilation and fire protection systems, with the ability to assess their design, performance and efficiency.
