Job Description
We're looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join our Group Internal Audit (GIA) function. You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality audit work that supports strong governance, protects our organisation’s assets and reputation, and helps us continue to deliver for our customers. Working primarily across Institutional Retirement and Group Finance, you’ll have the opportunity to build your expertise, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to a function that is central to how we operate responsibly and sustainably.
What you’ll be doing:
* Delivering a variety of internal audits in line with the annual Audit Plan
* Producing high‑quality audit work that aligns to GIA methodology and quality standards
* Escalating emerging risks and concerns to senior audit leaders to support timely audit planning
* Completing data analysis to identify risks, trends and areas requiring deeper review
* Testing IT controls with oversight from specialist colleagues
* Preparing clear documentation and communicating effectively with stakeholders across the business
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with audit stakeholders
* Contributing to team effectiveness through collaboration, knowledge‑sharing and continuous improvement
Who we’re looking for:
* Experience in internal audit, external audit, or relevant business roles
* Understanding of internal audit methodology and risk management principles
* Knowledge of financial services, corporate governance and regulatory expectations
* Ability to analyse data, interpret findings and identify key risks
* Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to work flexibly, adapt to change and manage multiple priorities
* Professional audit, accounting or actuarial qualification (or equivalent experience) desirable
* Experience using data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI advantageous
