The Role:
Continuously improving our manufacturing capability is both challenging and rewarding. As an undergraduate with an engineering background, you'll enjoy bringing a fresh perspective to the process.
For our 2026 Internship based at our Cadburys Chirk site we have created the role of Energy Reduction Intern, here you will play a vital role in supporting our energy efficiency initiatives. As part of the team from day one you’ll be given real responsibility and contribute regularly to meetings which help us to find practical solutions to manufacturing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the development and implementation of energy reduction projects at the Chirk site.
2. Assist in conducting energy balances to identify areas for improvement.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of metering strategies to accurately monitor energy consumption.
4. Analyze energy data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
5. Assist in plant optimization and design related to energy efficiency.
6. Contribute to AM/PM programs with a focus on energy conservation.
7. Support environmental management initiatives related to energy use.

Candidate requirements:
You will have predicted or achieved 2:1 Degree (or equivalent) in one of the following disciplines:
8. Chemical Engineering
9. Mechanical Engineering
10. Electrical Engineering
11. Integrated engineering
12. Industrial / manufacturing engineering
13. Or similar degrees
This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Therefore, we are unable to consider applicants who require sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
Starting salary: £23,000
Key dates:
14. Closing date for applications: 31st October 2025
15. Final assessment center: In person at our Chirk offices Tuesday 9th December 2025 (reasonable travel expenses covered)
16. Programme start: July 2026
