About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking organised and proactive Science Technicians to support secondary school science departments. This is a vital role ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to prepare equipment, materials, and resources for practical experiments, while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a science background looking to work in education without a teaching qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons
* Support teachers during practical sessions when required
* Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and stored safely
* Monitor and manage stock levels of chemicals and resources
* Dispose of chemicals and materials safely in line with regulations
* Maintain accurate records of equipment and stock
* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
What We Are Looking For
* Background in Science (GCSE/A-Level/Degree in a science subject desirable)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable, proactive, and flexible approach
Requirements
* GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
