The role - Senior Project Manager:
10. Senior accountable owner for the relationship with customers
11. Working with commercial & defence sector contractors
12. Negotiating high value commercial contracts & manging the contract upon agreement
13. Collaboration and liaison with other Project Managers and members of the senior leadership team.
14. Ability to take ownership and accountability of allocated projects to ensure delivery of the technical and financial performance whilst having the backing of a supportive team and working closely with the senior leadership.
15. Ensuring design, engineering and stringent quality standards are maintained.
16. Accountable for project wide estimating covering all aspects such as technical development, supply chain, risks, variations including additional scope etc.
17. Spend a portion of time on the shop floor keeping in touch with the day-to-day issues
18. Senior representative attending customer meeting cover all project aspects and levels of seniority within the customer organisation.
19. Interface conduit for production, technical and quality areas to ensure effective project management, visibility and controls.
20. Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver projects to time, meeting cost and quality targets and company standards.
21. Represent the company as the project commercial first point of contact .
22. Delivering continuous improvement of project management processes and practices.
What our client is looking for in a Senior Project Manager
23. Experience of Project Management & Contract Management within a heavy manufacturing / steel fabrication / heavy engineering / ship building environment - ESSENTIAL
24. City & Guilds/NVQ in fabrication or welding or similar mechanical engineering trade - BENEFICIAL
25. Prince2 Project Management qualifications - BENEFICIAL
26. Have a working knowledge of the procedures and processes undertaken in shipyards and knowledge of shipyard trade skills and their scopes of work.
27. Proven experience of estimating projects in a heavy engineering environment - ESSENTIAL
28. Commercial awareness and experience in working with Customers quantity Surveyors.
29. Proven experience of agreeing high value commercial contracts & contract management - ESSENTIAL
30. A proven record of high value budget and Earned value management,
31. Excellent understanding of commercial finances - ESSENTIAL
32. Experience in building and expanding a project team to meet additional demands.
33. Experience of defence sector single source contracting and SSRO requirements - BENEFICIAL
34. Knowledge of of current legislation relating to the maritime industry - BENEFICIAL
