About The Role
As a Customer Service Advisor at Barclays, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive outstanding support and personalized service. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the first point of contact for our retail banking clients, assisting them with inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance across multiple communication channels such as phone, email, and digital platforms. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a reputable financial institution, leveraging full training and ongoing support to succeed. You will work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to the enhancement of our digital capabilities and maintaining high standards of compliance and customer care. The position involves a shift pattern between 7am and 11pm, including some weekends, with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements once trained.

Qualifications

* Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or related roles
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
* Proficiency in digital communication channels and basic IT skills
* Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
* Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
* Understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies (preferred but not mandatory)

Responsibilities

* Serve as the primary contact for retail banking customers via multiple communication channels, including phone, email, and digital platforms
* Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and effectively
* Personalize customer interactions to enhance satisfaction and build trust
* Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, operations, risk management, compliance, and collections to meet customer needs and ensure accurate transaction processing
* Support the enhancement of digital banking capabilities by providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement
* Adhere to all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to customer care and data protection
* Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions
* Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on products, services, and compliance standards
* Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
* Manage own workload effectively, ensuring timely completion of prescribed activities
* If in a leadership position, guide and support team members, allocate work, and foster professional development
