SALARY: £30,000 - £31,500 per annum (includes unsociable hours payment)
LOCATION: Bristol, South West England (BS16)

WORKING HOURS: Shift pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 shifts off, rotating 2 x 08:00 - 20:00 and 2 x 20:00 - 08:00, 12 hours per shift
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Residential Support Worker within a Criminal Justice Approved Premises supporting up to 26 women transitioning from prison into the community.
As a Residential Support Worker you will provide structured living skills sessions, emotional support, safeguarding and behaviour management within a residential care setting focused on rehabilitation and independence.
Working as a Residential Support Worker you will promote safety, wellbeing and positive reintegration, maintaining clear boundaries while building professional, empathetic relationships in a supportive, all-women environment.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Residential Support Worker will include:
Deliver Structured Activities: Facilitate daily living skills sessions, leisure and creative activities
Provide Emotional Support: Support residents to address challenges and develop independence
Induct New Residents: Assist with orientation, ensuring understanding of policies and expectations
Maintain Safe Environment: Undertake regular inspections and maintain an active on-site presence
Monitor And Report: Record key information and escalate safeguarding or welfare concerns
Act As Fire Warden and First Aider: Fulfil designated safety responsibilities during shifts
Maintain Accurate Records: Update documentation and computer-based systems in a timely manner
Reinforce Boundaries: Exercise authority appropriately while promoting respect and dignity
Work Independently: Manage responsibilities confidently and respond effectively to challenging situations
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Good numeracy and literacy skills
An understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults
Ability to work alone and on own initiative
Willingness to work shifts covering days, nights and weekends
Empathetic approach with discretion when handling confidential information
Desirable
Previous experience of working within a residential setting
Previous experience of working with women
Experience of working with groups or individuals in order to support, motivate and change behaviour
An understanding of factors relating to multiple, compound needs
Knowledge and experience of the work within the Criminal Justice System
