Formula 1 covers a wide range of disciplines across various industry sectors, involving teams of technicians, engineers, media rights specialists, and experts in digital and traditional media, marketing, and communications. The roles include timekeeping, software development, broadcast engineering, and content creation.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Sporting Analyst - Timekeeper. In this role, you will operate, maintain, and facilitate the development of the F1 sporting timing system.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Configure, monitor, & diagnose F1 custom timing software in real-time, ensuring 100% service delivery.
2. Rig and de-rig the Formula 1 sporting timing systems at events and the F1 Media & Technology Centre.
3. Support the operational activities of the Sporting Services team.
4. Act as the official timekeeping signatory when required, taking full responsibility for the accuracy of event results.
5. Liaise with series organisers and event stewards to effectively manage the event.
6. Maintain dialogue with the governing body of the series to stay updated on developments and regulations.
7. Supervise validation, quality assurance, and publication of reports produced by the F1 timing and sporting services, in line with procedures and regulations.
8. Perform checks, analysis, and evaluations of tools and methodologies in the Sporting Services infrastructure.
Experience & Skills
* Motorsport and timekeeping experience, including data analysis for sporting events, with a valid national timekeeping and FIA super licence.
* Previous live event operational management experience.
* Minimum of five GCSEs at Grade A*-C (including Maths and English) and A-level or equivalent.
Desirable experience includes:
* National Timekeeping Officiating Licence issued by an ASN.
* HNC, HND, or degree in a technical field.
* ISTQB Foundation Level Certification.
