An opportunity has arisen for a full time post (10 sessions) for a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry within Angus Health & Social Care Partnership. Angus is a beautiful, essentially rural area between the Grampian hills and the sea, famous for its glens and leisure pursuits such as golf and hill walking. This post is within our two Psychiatry of Old Age inpatient wards, one 13 bedded organic ward & one 12 bedded functional ward, based in Susan Carnegie Centre within the grounds of Stracathro Hospital near Brechin. The successful applicant will join 3 other Consultant colleagues in the Department of Old Age Psychiatry, Angus with each Consultant providing medical leadership, advice and supervision to 3 well-established Community Mental Health Teams for Older People in Angus over 65. The post-holder will deliver care and promote a multidisciplinary and multiagency approach.
Applicants must be on the specialist register for psychiatry or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT/CESR (CP) or already in possession of CESR in psychiatry at the time of interview for the post.
