The Commissioning Engineer role is an opportunity to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Normanton area and have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
You will work on our Yorkshire Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, delivering projects to the Water Industry, including Treatment Waste and Water schemes.
What you will be doing
This is a highly demanding key role with key inputs throughout the project lifecycle associated with the Region / Framework delivery.
As the Commissioning Engineer you will ensure the efficient delivery of the Mechanical Electrical ICA (MEICA) and Commissioning of the assigned projects, working closely with the Senior Project Manager(s), Senior Commissioning Engineer and/or Commissioning Manager, up to Takeover. This includes ensuring the site is fully commissioned, MEICA takeover requirements are delivered to the wider project team in a timely manner, and all associated document deliverables are provided.
The role includes input to the design process, providing a commissioning overview to the project team, preparing detailed procedures to cover the commissioning activities, and ensuring records demonstrate the configuration and testing completed. You will ensure MEICA installation activities are completed to the project programmes and in a sequence that promotes efficient commissioning.
You will support the Project Manager in the successful handover of projects through collaborative management of snags/defects and demonstrating that quality criteria are met through the completion of a performance test process.
About You
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the water industry.
* Demonstrated ability in site management and delivery of MEICA / Commissioning, managing the interface with the client on a regular basis and promptly resolving issues affecting project progress.
* Proven track record of delivering MEICA & Commissioning through to successful project Takeover.
* Ability to meet project timelines and takeovers within deadlines.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to facilitate the creation and presentation of reports.
* Understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches.
* Understanding of water industry processes.
* Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the water industry.
* Structured approach to the commissioning of plant, equipment and processes within the water industry.
