Salary: £92.63–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a committed and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the NN2/NN3 area of Northampton. This full-time role involves working closely with pupils who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), providing both classroom and 1:1 support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Support pupils with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and SEMH
Help implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Support with personal care where required
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or similar setting)
A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Desirable
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent)
Experience supporting pupils with autism or SEMH needs
Team Teach or behaviour management training
