Duties as General Science Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging General Science lessons adapted for pupils with additional needs Teach across biology, chemistry, and physics to a range of abilities Adapt curriculum content and teaching strategies to support pupils with autism and ADHD Create a calm, structured, and predictable classroom environment Use positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies consistently Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to support individual outcomes Work closely with support staff and wider teams to deliver inclusive practice Support pupils’ confidence, engagement, and curiosity in science Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times Ideal General Science Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status or QTLS Strong background in teaching Science at secondary level Experience working in SEND, PRU, or alternative provision, or as a generalist SEND Teacher Confident adapting Science teaching for pupils with additional needs Calm, resilient, and flexible teaching approach Strong communication and relationship-building skills Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding Why Step Teachers?
