Job Title: Crisis Recovery Worker

Hours of work: Varied Hours- up to 30hrs

Service opening hours: 4pm-10pm Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays 365days

Salary: £24,000 with progression up to £26,500 per annum

Base: The Mooring, South Devon & Torbay Mental Health Centre, Torbay Hospital, Lowes Bridge

The Mooring is an open access service offering emotional and mental health support to anyone 18+ and offers a service across day and evening/weekend hours

About the role

As a Crisis Recovery Worker, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented support to individuals utilising our services.

We are a non-clinical service, providing support to reduce immediate distress to those at risk of self-harm, suicide or experiencing trauma. You will assist those on their journey to well-being and recovery. Your proven ability to identify challenges, understand individual needs, and help people achieve their goals will be essential. This role will encompass one-on-one engagement, facilitating activities within the service, and signposting individuals to additional resources.

*     You will be part of a team supporting people in a crisis drop-in Centre.1

*     We are a non-clinical service, providing support to reduce immediate distress to those at risk of self-harm, suicide or experiencing trauma.

*     Our service provides information, safety planning and signposting for clients, their families and carers to meet their holistic needs.

*     You will work closely with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services, partners agencies.

About you

You should have experience in working within mental health settings and the ability to inspire and engage individuals. You must also be skilled at identifying barriers and understanding client needs while demonstrating excellent motivational abilities. This includes one-on-one engagement, facilitating group activities, signposting, and connecting individuals with mainstream services.

An understanding of working with people who have a range of complex needs-such as mental health issues, learning disabilities, physical challenges, and substance misuse-will be advantageous for this position. Experience within a community-based service is essential, as it will have provided you with the necessary communication and interpersonal skills for this role.

It is preferred that you possess a Health and Social Care Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and be open to further development as the role demands.
