Role summary
We are seeking a proactive, goal-oriented Technical Manager (Solution Engineer) with electrical engineering expertise to design and integrate site-specific technical solutions. The role involves developing proposals, coordinating with customers and technology partners, supporting on-site implementations, and working closely with internal software, engineering, and project teams to ensure successful delivery and continuous improvement of technical offerings.
Key responsibilities
* Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and internal teams.
* Lead the technical aspects of customer proposals and tender responses.
* Carry out detailed technical analyses and evaluations of behind-the-meter (BTM) solutions involving Solar PV, wind, EV charging and battery storage.
* Work closely with commercial and sales teams to design optimal system solutions that meet customer requirements.
* Develop customer-specific technical solutions based on the company’s technology and site constraints (e.g., grid connection, local LV distribution, connection point, space limitations).
* Prepare technical concepts and documentation (single-line diagrams, grid integration assessments, fire suppression considerations, etc.) and present them to stakeholders.
* Coordinate and communicate with EPC / installation partners throughout the installation phase.
* Produce and maintain technical project documentation and monitor project progress together with the project engineer.
* Keep up to date with technical developments, standards and regulations relevant to BTM energy systems.
* Provide recommendations for technical optimisation of system designs and participate in training on new products and features.
Requirements & qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in electrical engineering and energy systems, preferably with a focus on renewables and/or power systems.
* Hands-on experience with on-site installations and working with installation partners.
* Ability to read and produce project concepts, single-line diagrams and technical documentation.
* Strong computer skills and relevant electrical qualifications.
* Familiarity with UK electrical regulations and construction codes (advantageous).
* Valid driving licence preferred.
* Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills; proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.
