Older People’s Services has 8 residential services across Fife, with a team based in each service. You can view each of the service locations, listed at the top of this advert, and will be asked to provide your location preference at interview.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our care home team in Fife Council’s Residential and Day Services (East), on a casual basis, for the position of relief social care worker (night shift).
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of Older People; with experience of care within a highly complex yet rewarding environment.
The residential care homes in Fife provide ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people: the care homes also support a STAR unit, respite, and day service.
The successful candidate will undertake the keyworker role, involving creating, monitoring, and reviewing care plans, keeping accurate records of support planning, and ensuring the service user is offered the opportunities, experiences, and care/support outlined in their care plan.

The Person
* Must have or be able to work towards: SVQ 3 as required by the Scottish Social Services Council. Once achieved, it is the individual's responsibility to inform the SSSC accordingly.
* To ensure registration with the SSSC within 6 months of starting, you must apply within 3 months of your start date. Maintaining registration involves holding or working towards the SSSC benchmark qualification for this role, completing required Continuing Professional Learning (CPL), and submitting an annual declaration via MySSSC. The benchmark qualification includes SVQ 3 or above. More details are available in the role profile.
* Provide care and support that meets the Health and Social Care standards.
* Work collaboratively with other Council services and partner agencies to support effective planning and delivery of care.
* Work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic team environment.

Additionally, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before confirming your appointment, and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
