SEN Secondary School Teaching Assistant – Oldham We are recruiting a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist secondary school setting in Oldham. This role focuses on helping young people with additional needs engage with learning, regulate emotions and develop independence. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support across a range of subjects Support pupils with ASD, SEMH, communication needs, sensory needs or cognitive difficulties Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning Assist teachers with adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs Support EHCP outcomes, personal learning targets and transition planning Encourage independence, self-esteem and social skills Maintain clear records, observations and safeguarding information Essential Requirements Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in SEN or secondary settings A patient, consistent and confident approach to behaviour support Full availability during the school week Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
