An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-organised Legal Assistant to join a friendly and established Residential Property team in Redditch. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive environment while gaining valuable experience in a busy conveyancing practice.
Responsibilities include:
* Handling general administrative tasks.
* Preparing and submitting client quotes.
* Dealing with queries from clients, solicitors, lenders, and estate agents.
* Providing regular client updates and monitoring matter progression.
* Opening and closing files on the case management system in line with AML, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (SRA and CQS).
* Assisting with Leasehold transactions.
* Carrying out searches online.
* Using the Land Registry portal to submit registrations, respond to requisitions, and order official copies, leases, and title plans.
* Generating Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) calculations and submitting applications.
* Preparing and submitting bills, receipts, and payments to the finance team.
* Occasional reception cover as required.
What we need from you:
* Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant (preferred).
* Good knowledge of day-to-day operations in a legal office.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Experience using case management software.
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
* Good understanding of the conveyancing process.
* Confident communication skills and professional client manner.
