Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Registered Manager to lead the setup and Ofsted registration of a brand-new 4-bed residential children's home in Bexley, South East London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is either semi-retired and seeking flexible leadership work or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up into a Registered Manager role. The ideal candidate will meet Ofsted's regulatory requirements and demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering trauma-informed, child-centred care. As the named manager on the Ofsted registration (SC1), you will play a vital role in recruiting the initial care team, shaping the home's culture, and ensuring that all systems are firmly in place for a safe, supportive, and fully compliant launch.
Duties
* Work with responsible individual to Lead the home through the
* Ofsted registration process and act as the named manager.
* Oversee the development of care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding protocols and policies.
* Recruit, train, and support a small residential team.
* Build strong relationships with social workers, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England)Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
* Promote a therapeutic, nurturing and trauma-informed culture in the home.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Requirements
* 2 years' experience in residential childcare
* At least 1 year in a Deputy or Managerial role
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – required
* Strong working knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children's rights
* Confident, proactive leadership style with good communication skills
