Tasks and responsibilities 1. Sort and packs food parcels, essentials, and clothing materials for community residents. 2. Plans and monitors product storage of items in the warehouse and ensures that food parcels are accurately sorted. 3. Record and update the Trust’s planner with details of all food parcel deliveries. 4. Oversees stock replenishment of essential items and updates the appropriate line manager if stock is depleting. 5. Loads prepared food parcels into vehicles and assists with their distribution to members of the community. 6. Display and distribute leaflets with local services information to the community. 7. Checks food quality by ensuring the best before or use-by dates have not gone past and updating the appropriate line manager if there is any issue with the quality of the food. 8. Dispose of unwanted or expired food accordingly in accordance with the health and safety regulations 9. Welcome members of the community to the food bank, direct them to the right offices, and respond to their inquiries if any. 10. Provide support to the church library and bookshop if the foodbank is not busy. 11. Arrange a venue for regular Mass, Holy Communion, and other special events for the community.
