Please note this is a Fixed Term 12 month contract.
Are you interested in being an integral part of high performing teams delivering advanced technical capabilities and services? We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals experienced in Project Planning at the programme or portfolio level to join our growing Project Controls team.
We are seeking a Project Controller to deliver Project Controls activities into large-scale complex development and production projects within our Combat Air Business Area. The Combat Air Business Area spans current and future fighter programmes. We have responsibility for the leadership of the EuroDASS Consortium, covering the through-life development and production of Praetorian, the Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS) for the EuroFighter Typhoon. Additionally, the Business Area covers capabilities for the Future Combat Air System (FCAS), the UK’s 6th Generation Combat Aircraft.
Working closely as part of the Development IPT (Integrated Project Team), this role offers the opportunity to be involved in projects delivering capability and services to a range of international and national stakeholders.
What you’ll do as aProject Controller
1. Deliver Project Controls on Projects through the application of consistent processes, methods, governance, and guidance to the wider IPT in line with Leonardo processes.
2. Own the Project Schedules - drive and promote optimal schedule quality and best practice management techniques, including schedule risk analysis at all project lifecycle stages.
3. Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimize schedules, identify, and resolve conflicts.
4. Support the establishment and management of activities in the bid phase to ensure best practices, risk management, and smooth schedule transition to execution.
5. Conduct what-if analysis to inform decision-making and risk mitigation.
6. Utilize Schedule Risk Analysis techniques, including identification, analysis methods, and recommendations for the project team on management and mitigation strategies.
7. Apply Project Controls metrics and measures (including EV) and report to IPT/PCM, providing recommendations to address issues.
8. Contribute to IPT and Business area Project reviews (PPRP, Schedule Reviews, etc.) by delivering Project Controls inputs.
9. Build and maintain strong relationships across functions to influence project activities.
What we need from you:
You really must have:
* Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support reasoning.
* Good business knowledge to perform what-if scenarios.
* Ability to work independently within well-defined procedures with minimal supervision.
* Ability to learn new tools and software.
* Experience managing company data, databases, CRM systems, etc., in a professional setting.
It would be nice if you had:
* Holds or is eligible for APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Level Certification.
* Practical experience in Project Planning and Control principles.
* Experience with techniques like Earned Value, Work Breakdown Structure, and Network Planning.
* Proficiency in SAP/Primavera or similar planning tools.
* Understanding of all project lifecycle phases, with experience in Planning and Execution.
