Job Summary Priory Hospital Bristol seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to join its Rehabilitation & Recovery ward. This part‑time role (22.5 hours a week) offers a salary of £170,000 per year, permanent contract, and work pattern that is flexible. The position is located at Heath House Lane, Stapleton, Bristol (BS16 1EQ).
Responsibilities
Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Supervise the referral and admission process, contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
Provide a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team for the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.
Participate in management meetings and clinical governance meetings, contributing to the development of service strategy.
Person Specification (Essential)
Strong team player committed to a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation, and management planning.
Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and included on the relevant Specialist Register; evidence of registration available upon request.
Holder of a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in a relevant area of Psychiatry with experience in inpatient settings supporting individuals with significant mental health difficulties.
Experience in a leadership role; will be assessed against Priory’s leadership behaviour framework during the interview process.
