The Position
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, engaging students with language and literature while supporting progress and attainment. The successful candidate will bring creativity, energy, and a genuine passion for English to the classroom.
Key Duties Include:
Teaching English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 pupils
Planning and delivering well-structured, engaging lessons
Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Supporting enrichment opportunities such as reading initiatives and writing activities
Working collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team
Contributing to the wider life and values of the school
Person Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting (ECTs welcome)
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
Ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities
Confident classroom management and a proactive approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
