Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Radiographer or Technologist to work in our Nuclear Medicine department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
This is a great opportunity to join a state‑of‑the‑art Nuclear Medicine department. You will ensure a high‑quality scanning service, administering radiopharmaceuticals and performing Nuclear Medicine scans, including PET‑CT and molecular radiotherapies.
As a senior technologist or radiographer you will help ensure effective day‑to‑day operations of the service. You must be resourceful, innovative and able to respond to challenges while working collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Work involves:
* Assess patient referrals, manage care, safely prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and scan patients.
* Perform image processing and produce results to the highest technical standards.
* Supervise technologists/radiographers and support staff as required.
* Support the Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist, PET‑CT Superintendent and Lead Superintendent in delivering an efficient and effective service.
* Work within regulatory frameworks and follow all local rules, SOPs and health & safety legislation.
* Perform clinical work across all nuclear medicine departments, including weekend and evening duties as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Nuclear medicine qualification (Undergraduate or postgraduate).
* Willingness to work towards obtaining registration with the Register of Clinical Technologists.
Desirable
* HCPC registered or RCT registered.
Experience
Essential
* Experience working in a healthcare setting.
* Understanding of the risks associated with radioactive sources (open and sealed) and CT to patients and staff.
* Knowledge of general policies and procedures of a Nuclear Medicine department.
Desirable
* Previous experience of student mentorship.
