The role
Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year Requirements: We require you to be a British Citizen at the time of application and to be able to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. We are looking for well developed experience managing large-scale, complex digital and technology projects. We need proven experience using strategic portfolio management to support organisational change. We are seeking practical knowledge of strategic risk management, agile planning cycles, problem solving, and managing multiple interdependencies. We are looking for strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams and coach others on best practice processes. We would ideally like you to hold Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), or Management of Portfolios (MoP) certification, or have significant equivalent experience managing complex programmes, work, or portfolios. We need strong communication skills and the ability to identify, analyse, and engage stakeholders through a range of channels. We value a proactive approach and a commitment to continuous improvement of yourself and our service. Responsibilities: We provide strategic oversight of our digital, data and technology portfolio. We lead a collaborative team of portfolio professionals and foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivery excellence. We shape and maintain a robust governance framework for the portfolio. We ensure effective prioritisation, resource allocation, and risk management across a complex portfolio of products, services, and programmes. We work closely with senior stakeholders to support evidence-based investment decisions. We ensure benefits are clearly defined and that the portfolio adapts to changing priorities. We act as a key advisor to senior leadership colleagues, providing clear, data-driven insights and recommendations. We champion best practice in strategic portfolio management. We support the development of business cases. We ensure reporting mechanisms are in place to track progress, manage interdependencies, and deliver successful outcomes. We identify, categorise, and prioritise new demand for inclusion in service groups and the portfolio. We establish a clear governance framework and reporting system. We coordinate reporting from service groups and analyse performance at portfolio level.
