Your role:
You will report to the Assistant Director and be part of a client focussed and outcome driven legal and democratic function.
You will lead on and co-ordinate the operational development, management, improvement and delivery of the business aspects of Legal Services including the identification of efficiencies, enhanced client relationships, cost savings and technological based processes.
You will plan, manage, implement and control a significant change programme within Legal Services which will include the achievement of external accreditation.
You will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of all business, quality assurance and performance management processes within the Legal practice.
You will lead on the procurement, design, development and implementation of ICT software applications including AI to support the efficiency and delivery of services.
You will ensure all projects related to Legal Services core strategies for delivered efficiently and effectively to deliver the Progress with Unity missions.
You will have overall responsibility for the Legal Practice Support Team including supervision, performance management, identification of training needs and allocation of duties.
About you:
You must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:
* Degree in a related professional discipline or evidence of significant experience in Legal Practice Management either in the public or private sector.
* Management qualification which evidences skills, knowledge and experience demonstrably relevant to the requirements of the post or at least 3 years’ experience of managing technical and general administrative staff in a large and complex organisation.
* Project Management qualification or significant experience of managing large and complex projects in either the public or private sector.
* Extensive experience of developing, implementing and delivery of all business, quality assurance and performance management processes
* Knowledge of external accreditations including ISO and LEXCEL
* Proven track record in a pressurised and deadline driven environment,
* Experience of budget, delivery of efficiencies, costing savings and contractual management,
* Ability to represent the service and the Council at local level and at a regional level if necessary,
* The ability to engage, inspire and care to achieve service development, transformation and service improvements.
* Well developed skills to influence and persuade decision-makers using written and verbal reasoning which is based on fact.
