Production Specialist - Education & Training

We have an exciting opportunity for an Education and Training Production Specialist to join our dynamic and supportive team, delivering highquality education and training and contributing to workforce development within the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit. We are looking for an enthusiastic, selfmotivated individual with high professional standards and a strong commitment to learning. You will help promote a positive learning culture, supporting staff to develop the skills required for safe, effective and innovative practice. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your leadership skills within a collaborative environment that values development, coaching and continuous improvement. It is an exciting time to join the team as we are part of a national programme transforming aseptic services across England, with West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) identified as a pathfinder site. Our expanding service supports the development of a new, stateoftheart Aseptic Hub. Based at Moor House, we operate under an MHRA Specials licence, supplying highquality pharmaceutical IV medicines to patients.


Main duties of the job

This is a fulltime post (37.5 hours), worked flexibly over a fourday week (MondayFriday), including some late shifts until 7pm, with participation in weekend and bank holiday rotas.

The post will be based at Moor House, Moor Road, Leeds, LS10 2JQ

What you will bring to the role

* Leading, developing and delivering education and training across the service, working with the E&T Lead to support workforce development.
* Planning and delivering specialist education programmes, including oversight of the inhouse training programme, ensuring materials, documentation and competency assessments are current, compliant and aligned with GMP and best practice.
* Supporting the training, assessment and ongoing development of technical and support staff against agreed competency frameworks, in collaboration with QA, workforce colleagues, education teams and external providers.
* Acting as an Educational Supervisor, mentor and coach for staff undertaking pharmacy qualifications, apprenticeships and other learning programmes.
* Identifying and resolving education and training issues, including performance concerns and conflict, in a fair and supportive manner.
* Contributing to competency framework development and supporting recruitment, induction and retention initiatives.
* Providing operational support to the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit, including supervision, accuracy checking and maintaining patient safety within a GMP aseptic environment.
* Contributing to management team activities, including service planning, continuous improvement and workforce development initiatives.

Qualifications

* BTEC in pharmaceutical science or NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services or Science Manufacturing with relevant experience
* Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences (or similar)
* BTEC/Certificate in Aseptic Dispensing or Quality Assurance or equivalent
* Eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), Science Council or equivalent professional body
* Training, Education, Supervisory or Management qualification
* Completion of mentor, trainer, and assessor training
* NVQ Assessors award or equivalent


Experience

* Broad range of technical skills – Aseptic preparation and Good Manufacturing practice
* Experience of training others
* Accuracy checking training
* Recruitment & selection
* Staff training and development
* Good manufacturing, dispensing, distribution, practice
* Incident and error reporting Health & Safety / COSHH
* Extensive post qualification experience in hospital or industry at Pharmacy Technician higher level, or equivalent
* Management or supervisory experience of technical and support staffAbsence management
* Performance review of staff
* Developing and implementation of procedures
* Experience as a workplace training / educational supervisor, mentor or equivalent
