Responsibilities
* Carry out planned maintenance programmes and schedules, recommending improvements to maximise efficiencies.
* Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
* Analyse line efficiency, wastage, and downtime data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
* Operate all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards.
* Produce detailed written reports such as downtime sheets and line log books.
* Consult manufacturers’ manuals and mechanical drawings to order correct replacement parts.
* Operate machinery where required to ensure efficient manufacturing team working.
Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds level or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
* Preferably experienced in a multi‑skilled food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
* In‑depth knowledge of maintenance systems and processes.
* Proven experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques.
* Excellent attention to detail and a right‑first‑time approach.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with creativity and analytical thinking.
* Ability to work independently and deliver from start to finish.
