Hays Education is recruiting English Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a range of secondary schools in Gloucester & Cheltenham and the surrounding areas. We are looking for passionate English specialists who can deliver high-quality lessons in English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 students.We have regular opportunities for:
* Day-to-day cover
* Short-term blocks
* Long-term English roles (now, Easter, and September)

What you'll be doingAs an English Supply Teacher, you will:
* Deliver pre-planned English lessons across KS3-KS4
* Support progress in reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
* Follow departmental schemes of work and school policies
* Adapt confidently to a range of schools and class groups
* Long-term placements may include planning, marking, assessments and involvement in the wider English department.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
* Experience teaching in a UK secondary school (ECT placements welcome)
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management
* The right to work in the UK
* An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
* A flexible, positive approach to supply teaching
* ECTs are encouraged to apply
